dietitian dietician healthy cooking food nutrition

I’m a passionate Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) and Accredited Nutritionist (AN) who loves food, cooking and helping people improve their health. I believe that food should be enjoyed and you generally can’t beat whole fresh foods when it comes to good nutrition.

I believe we need to take a holistic apporach to health, and that evidence based alternate therapies can be an integral part of this process.

I’m a wife and mum and understand the importance of nutrition recommendations that are relevant to the whole family. I am commited to helping make healthy eating easy and enjoyable, no matter what your life looks like.

I have a bachelor of Medical Science from the Australian National University, and a Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Canberra.

I’m a current member of the Dietitians Association of Australia, and a participant in their APD program, requiring ongoing professional development and education activities. I am also qualified with Health Coaching Australia.

My career as a dietitian started by working in program management with the ACT Medicare Local (formerly ACT Division of General Practice) managing diabetes prevention, healthy lifestyle and Closing the Gap (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health) programs. I was in this role for 18 months.

Three years ago, I started a small home-based nutrition consulting practice, which has since grown into Nutrition in Action, practicing from several locations throughout Canberra.

I’m passionate about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and am currently employed as a dietitian one day per week at Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Helath Service, where I consult to individuals and run regular cooking classes. I have been in this role for 18 months.
